This video was a highlight from the December 19 act of civil disobedience in the capitol rotunda as call to action from The People Demand, demanding a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, an end to military aid to Israel, and a commitment to protect immigrant and asylee rights.

SWANN QUEEN is a short fiction project directed by L Cedeño and inspired by the world's first drag queen, William Dorsey Swann, who hosted balls in DC in the late  1800s. The police routinely raided Swann's soirees, arresting and jailing attendees found in this "hell of iniquity" (Evening Star, January 1986). SWANN QUEEN reimagines a night at Billy Swann's drag ball, just before they're raided by police, and Swann must choose to run or resist. This film is currently in post-production, and accepting financial donations via their gofundme page.

During the uprisings, throughout the pandemic, and to this day, the DC Mutual Aid apothecary has supported organizers and community members alike with nervine medicines and space to build community.
